Is Trump Showing Signs of Alzheimer’s?

I am going to answer that question right now. A resounding yes!

Trump is angry that the Nobel Committee did not consider him for the Nobel Peace Prize claiming that he ended four wars. I can give him credit for what happened in Israel but what are the other three? There is only one other that I know of and that is Ukraine and he has abandoned them in favor of Russia and Putin in particular. Putin is an enemy of the state but don’t tell Trump that he is wrong in his bromance with Putin. Poland in particular is very wary of Russia as are Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, the Baltic countries. They are our allies but Trump does not care, possibly because they are such small countries.

Yesterday, January 20, 2026, Trump rambled on for a two-hour press conference. From the beginning he was making up things as he went along. But he has always done that so what is different now? He showed a large number of photographs purportedly of criminals who have been captured, I’m not but I am guessing there because, again, he did not say who they were relative to ICE. Humorously, as he kept saying, “these are very bad people,” there were several who had a domestic violence against them. They are bad people but not the “worst of the worst” as Trump loves to claim.

First, the insane idea that he will take Greenland by force if necessary. His claim is that Chinese and Russian war-ships are traveling past nothern Greenland. But reports from reliable sources say that this just is not true. In fact, the Chinese have not been sighted in the entire Atlantic Ocean. But he is using this claim as the reason he must have the U.S. own Greenland. The truth is, if we want to build another military base in Greenland, the people of Greenland will be happy to have that. Furthermore, Trump has claimed that Greenland only became owned by Denmark after World War 2. Another fabrication. The fact is, Greenland has be a part of Denmark since the year 986.

Now Trump wants to put a 25% tarrif on many western European countries because they are not doing his bidding, or so he claims. He has single handedly alienated our allies! These are countries that are a part of NATO just as we are. But Trump wants to end NATO too. Why?

In his 2-hour ramble at the press conference, as shown above, he also brought out a thick bunch of paper claiming that it show everything he has accomplished. I bet if you could get a copy of what is on those pages, you would find that it is not more than a bunch of claims Trump is making without proof, of course.

Trump has weaponized the Justice Department to go after people who he does not like. In his sites right now are the Governor of Minnesota, and the mayors of Minneapolis and St. Paul. He says they are actively recruiting people to demonstrate against ICE. Actually, if they were doing that, and they are not, it is not illegal. Trump also claims that the protesters are being paid. He shows not proof to back up what he is saying except to say, “everyone knows.” That will not stand up in a court of law.

Our do-nothing House of Representatives lack the spine to stand up to him and say, “enough is enough.” They are so afraid of Trump being angry with them that they fail to realize that they serve the people and not the Executive branch, Trump. The man has gone off the rails but Republicans are hiding from the truth, a truth that is being exposed and which the American public will show in the mid-term elections as-well-as the 2028 elections.

Trump is the

Trump Alienates the World!

Trump’s foolishness at trying to either purchase Greenland or take it by force show his complete lack of understand by a treaty between the U.S. and Denmark made in 1951 which gave the U.S. unfettered access to Greenland as a part of the NATO strategy. (https://www.history.com/articles/1951-agreement-that-allows-us-military-presence-in-greenland) And for reasons known only to Trump, he continues his desire to own Greenland? Has he not read that 1951 agreement which is still enforce? Probably not. The treaty also give the U.S. rights to any minerals it needs from Greenland.

Trump claim that Russian ships are threatening the U.S. by going over the nothern tip of Greenland. If the U.S. were to want to build a new Naval Base in Greenland as a deterance to those Russian ships, Greenland would absolute agree to its being built. Furthermore, if the U.S. wanted to build other sorts of Defense installations on Greenland, we already have the right to do so.

But Trump decided to put a 25% tarrif on several European countries, our Allies, out of spite. By doing this Trump is putting in jeapordy the NATO alliance which is the world’s largest deterrance to agression. To wit, Ukraine desperately want to join NATO but NATO has said it cannot do so until hostilities between Russia and Ukraine have ended and permanent peace plan establish. Russia in its proposal to end the war is that Ukraine may never join NATO. This proves how strong NATO is right now and how our enemy, in the form of Putin speaking for his country, means to Russia.

Trump is acting against our national interest and in turn is aiding and abetting Russia. Trump has always said that he has a special relationship with Putin. Is he secretly partnering with Russia? I hope not but who knows. Russia was shown to attempt to sway our elections in favor of Trump and his acolytes.

The time is overdue for our Congress to act and restrain Trump’s actions, as it must do according to our Constitution. Article 1, section 8 provides, “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.” This includes tariffs but our presend do-nother Congress has ceded its power to the executive and compromised the seperation of powers as directed by the Constitution. Articles 1, 2, and 3 of the Constitution clearly set out the powers invested in our Congress, Executive, and Judicial. Three co-equal but seperate entities.

Since Congressional Republicans are in fear of a Trump retaliation against them, they have effectively ceded the powers entrusted to Congress to the Execture. We are now in a state of tyranny our founders worked hard to avoid, and yet, here we are.

It is to us, we the people, to vote out those in fear of carrying out their obligations to their constituencies and vote in people who will abide by the Constitution, which they swear to uphold during their swearing in, and not to a would be dictator in the form of Trump.

U.S. Foreign Policy

With his “America First” policy, Trump has decimated our stance as a world leader into a more isolationist policy not seen since 1940 and how did that turn out?

There are responsibilities that go with being the richest nation in the world. We do need to give Americans the first consideration. But that does not absovle us from our foreign policy stance over the past 60+ years. NATO was created immediately after WW2 to create a strong bond between the Western European Countries with the U.S. in defense of those countries. An alliance born of necessity. Trump certainly has no inkly of history as he is right now seeking to destroy that alliance. Why? Because he does not want to pay America’s part in that organization. In 1950 there we 12 countries that were a part of NATO. Today there are 32.

At stake is the peace of all Europe while Russia wars with Ukraine. Trump took office and cut Ukraine off from our assistance. And yet, Ukraine is still taking the fight to Russia. If Russia could defeat Ukraine, it would have already done so. That simple statement should show that each sovereign nation in the world has the God given right to self-determination.

But why is Trump still cow-towing to Putin? He is a despot, a man who thinks nothing of killing his own people. But also a man so in fear of his own life that he isolates himself again possible assasination by his own people. Trump either does not see or does not care that Putin is trying to revive, as much as possible, the old Soviet Union of which he was a part and still longs for those days.

Morality dictates that all free countries of Europe and the U.S. have a responsibility to assist the Ukrainian people against a warring nation, Russia. Right now Europe is doing its best by upping their ante so that they are now giving 5% of their budget to their military. In an ironic twist of history, Germany now has troops based in Lithuania, a country where Jews were eradicated by the German Nazi regime. But ask the average Lithuanian how they feel about the German present and they will tell you how happy they are there. (Atlantic, January 2026, pp. 56-65)

Past administrations have accepted that as a world leader, America has a responsibility to the rest of the world to help where help is needed. Organization such as the World Health Organization (WHO), several UN organizations, and food assistance to Africa have lost American monies they desperately need. Our counties is fast becoming the parriah of the Western World. The Trump’s “don’t care” policy toward the rest of the world is exasperating. We are responsible.

And finally Trump’s ploy to gain Greenland is dumb by any standard. Right now the U.S. can already do almost anything it pleases in Greenland by a treaty signed many many decades ago. We do not need to do anything more.

The world sees Trump as his really is. A playground bully, who, when he does not get his own way will use force to accomplish such. These policies must change or by 2029, the U.S. will have far fewer allies than it did in 2024.

The Death of the Earth?

For a month now, I have seen on television the record high temperatures being realized in southwestern America and now it is moving towards the plain’s states. But this is not just an American phenomenon. Across the globe, countries are being ravaged by heat waves. The Saharah Desert is moving more southward. The polar ice of both poles is melting at an alarming rate. And today, I heard on NBC news that the water temperature in the Florida Keys is 101!

In the north polar regions, many animals rely upon a polar cap just to survive. The polar bear is the one being hurt the most buy our climate change. What happens in the north pole ice disappears completely? What happens in the Greenland glacier melts away? What happens in the ice shelves of the south pole disappear? What happens is there becomes an ecological disaster!

Since the dawn of industrialization in the 19th century, the world has been moving towards this moment in time. People seem to be either blissfully unaware or just refuse the looming disaster. Our planet survives because of a synergy between all the animals on earth, from the microscopic to the largest of whales. There are whales that eat only plankton. What happens to them when the plankton disappears? What happens when water temperatures rise to high for certain fish and mammals that cannot adjust? And what happens to people when their water supply and food supply dwindles?

People may not believe that survival of the human race as it is, is at stake. We must cut carbon emissions to zero and fast. A scientific project for the year 2030 was 7 years off! That project has been met this year.

Scientist has warned that a rise in the average temperature of the earth but just 2 degrees Fahrenheit will kill off many species of animal that are part of the food chain and thereby cause a food chain calamity. We are a part of that food chain and yet we do very little.

The United States, China, and India are among the biggest contributors to global warning. China is still building coal fired power plants. Coal is a huge polluter!

We need only look at the planet Venus to find out what happens when a planet’s upper atmosphere is so thick with gases that hold in the sun’s heat to see a possible future for our planet.

The answer is really simple. All the peoples of the earth must switch to a power grid of electricity powered by the sun and stop the usage of fossil fuels and nuclear fuels as well. Nuclear power plants are heat polluters because of the great amount of heat they give off. We have a number of carbon zero methods of electrical generation: the sun itself, wind, water of rivers and the water of the oceans. In some places the use of volcanic steam is possible.

Our technology is evolving but it can evolve faster if the demand for is grows faster. The wind farms of today will look nothing like those of the future. The use of solar panels should become a mainstream part of every country’s power grid.

We have two choice and only two choices. We can continue as we are and guarantee a future of desperation world-wide or we can use the technology that is at our hands to change the course of our human existence.
